About Jo Maldonado

Animal Reader

Speaker, Instructor & Consultant

On respite and recovery from two hip surgeries in 2007 and 2008 Jo Maldonado began studying her life long passion of animal-to-human communication, and the relationship of one to the other.  This led her to open Centers for Animal Therapies/C.A.T. an educational program for the understanding of animals in 2009. The program began with a handful of classes and quickly grew to over 50 classes a semester with local and well known national instructors offering the public general knowledge such as pet nutrition, training, alternative healing, animal communication, and pet first aid to name a few.   An integral component of the program was its dedication to offer animal sanctuaries FREE education and assistance.

As the program grew, so did Jo’s ability to connect the relationship of the intuitive and behavioral aspects between the animal and human species. Volunteering at animal sanctuaries gave her the opportunity to observe and practice her studies. 100% of the time, all animals responded to the telepathic sending of messages, sending a response in return.  Continuing her observations led her to connect the theory that all thoughts take on energy and that animals in turn responded to the energy that was being sent and were in fact responding to the thoughts that humans were sending.

Jo’s studies led her to conclude that not only do thoughts have energy, body language coupled with sound, body mechanics and breath also contributed to the energetic signal that was being sent to animals. Based on the position of the body, animals responded accordingly. Predatory animals such as dogs would, for example, respond differently to a position than a prey animal such as a horse. Sound had additional implications and would strengthen the energetic signal.  Of particular note was that single instrument music or singing to animals would calm them.  Thoughts, sound and body language contributed to the status of the human’s body mechanics with a direct effect on heart rate, blood pressure, breathing patterns, etc…,influencing the responses of animals.

Through the process of hypnosis Jo began to determine how the conscious and subconscious state of the human directly affects the physical action of their dog. If the human was in a calm mindset, so was the dog. If the human was tense, erratic and nervous, the dog would respond accordingly.  Her lectures typically include volunteers from the audience to demonstrate this theory.

Jo is the founder of Kids N Kritters, a summer camp that teaches children about animals and nature.  She also founded Rescue for the Rescue, a free educational program for animal sanctuary and shelter volunteers and employees.
