Freedom Ride On January 17, 2010, 15 students and instructors joined me as I visited a rehabilitative equestrian facility called Freedom Ride. Freedom Ride was established in 1998 with one rider and one horse. There are currently over 100 handicapped riders that are rehabilitated on a weekly basis with the help of 14 dedicated horses. The facility that started on 20 acres of land leased from the city of Orlando is now down to 10 acres. Their 20 year lease was cut back to 5. And in December of 2009 they received a letter notifying them that they had till 2011 to vacate. Fences that were constructed with Freedom Ride donar money have already begun to be torn down. There are over 200 volunteers that contribute their time to this organization. Our group offered Reiki, biofeedback, massage, energy healing, grooming and love. If you would like to help Freedom Ride, please contact Linda Chapman, Executive Director at 407-293-0411, OR email linda.w@freedomride.com Freedom Ride is located at 1905 Lee Rd., Orlando. Dusty, a sweet 25 year old quarter horse is ready to retire in someone's loving pasture. If you, or someone you know is interested in adopting Dusty, please contact Linda at the above address.
