Visiting Panther RIdge
Wellington Florida

After over a four hour drive from Orlando, I really didn't know what to expect.  Kumari Mullin, animal communicator, Reiki Master and spiritual healer who will be teaching for CAT this fall, had invited me to join her at a remarkable sanctuary for BIG cats.  Panther Ridge founded and operated by Judy Berens was in trouble. The FOR SALE sign was the first thing I noticed as I pulled up to the long drive.  With a monthly expense of approximately $14,000 for over 20 cats, their estimated time of survival is probably at about a year.

The meticulously kept grounds, state of ultimate comfort pens with excercise areas and pools and plenty of grounds to play, was only part of the surprise of this visit. And yes, there is a guest house!

Judy, a petite well poised and spoken woman has an unusual relationship unlike any big cat rescue I have seen. The mutual respect that resonates between cat and woman is without words. Judy can sit, talk, brush, play and feed her cats as close as you or I may get with our domestic animal counterparts. Her mental state of balance is unparalleled.

Sadly as economic times press upon us, they are pressing with much strength upon Panther Ridge.  I encourage you to visit the website, http://www.pantherridgesanctuary.org , and if you can support this wonderful rescue, please do so.
